Freddie Kitchens Revenge Game? Lets Not Overthink It

I swear some times that Roger Goodell is like Vince McMahon and the NFL is really just a more elaborate version of the WWE. When the Giants/Browns game was originally scheduled it looked like it was going to be an Odell homecoming in front of Giants fans but with there being no fans and Odell being injured, Goodell had to flip the script with a new storyline.

With Jason Garret out of Sunday nights game due to Covid, former Browns HC Freddie Kitchens, will be calling the plays against his former team. A guy who was once called "an idiot" by his starting QB on a hot mic (deservingly so), is about to get his chance at revenge this Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.

Its ironic that starting QB, Baker Mayfield, would call Kitchens an idiot as it looks like Kitchens trust in Baker may have been his downfall. What's the biggest difference between this year and last year for the Browns? Baker Mayfield is averaging 5 less pass attempts a game, putting the ball in the hands of their playmaking Running Backs, Chubb and Hunt, more often. They are also letting the best passer on the team, Jarvis Landry, throw the ball more often as he is now 4 for 4 with a 158.3 passer rating.

From the looks of it, it seems like the new Browns coaching staff isn't "overthinking it" and allowing their guys to go to work.

Giants fans will certainly remember when Baker Mayfield had his "mind blown" when the Giants took Daniel Jones #6 overall in the 2019 NFL draft as he said "Some people overthink it [what makes a good quarterback]. That’s where they go wrong. They forget you’ve gotta win.” Which makes the worst part of this game not having Daniel Jones under center. I would have loved nothing more than a Freddie Kitchens/Daniel Jones tag team victory over the Browns but looks like we won't get that wish this Sunday.

Instead we will have to rely on Colt McCoy and a Bradberry-less defense to stop the Browns from getting their 10th win of the season, which doesn't seem to promising. However the fighting Joe Judges never back down from a fight and I think we will get a good one on Sunday night (hey that rhymes). As long as Freddie Kitchens doesn't call a draw play on 4th and 9 in the 4th quarter again, unfortunately he has done that before. I can't believe at one point this team was able to unlock a whole city worth of Bud Light fridges with one win. What a long way they have come. Do you think we will find out if the Browns are for real?
